Pt Reyes Youth Hostel

This International Youth Hostel is situated within walking distance of the Pacific Ocean inside the Point Reyes National Seashore.  Travelers from all around the world are drawn here to one of the world’s finest bird sanctuaries.

The simple building form resembles the local vernacular style but is assembled with large pre-manufactured insulated panels protected by fiber-cement siding.  Structural insulated panels are used for the wall and roof systems to reduce the amount of virgin wood products while dramatically reducing the erection time of the building envelope.  The panelized system also creates a highly insulated building, lowering the need for supplemental heating.
