Pete Retondo

Pete Retondo has spent the last 35 years in architecture and construction. He specializes in a comprehensive approach to architecture that includes complete three-dimensional CAD modelling of buildings, close collaboration with structural and energy consultants, thorough detailing, and a teamwork-oriented partnership with builders. As a former builder himself, he works closely with contractors and workmen to ensure that construction proceeds smoothly with a high level of quality.

Pete has been part of several notable Bay Area Architecture firms, and his work with Sim Van der Ryn has stretched over 20 years. He holds a Masters of Architecture degree from UC Berkeley, and has completed 5 years of doctoral studies at Berkeley in the areas of mechatronics and computer-aided-manufacturing for architecture. He was recipient of a 3-year Department of Energy Doctoral Fellowship in Integrated Manufacturing.
