Pete Retondo has spent the last 35 years working on buildings. His
work has ranged from pounding nails as an apprentice carpenter on the
rehab of low-income housing, through a career as a craftsman and contractor,
as a licensed project architect in several notable Bay Area firms, and
in pursuit of a PhD* in Architecture Design Theory and Methods studying
mechatronic systems for the design and fabrication of complex buildings
and building elements. Pete's affiliation with Sim Van der Ryn, his design
professor and mentor, has stretched over 20 years and many layers of
depth! Now the principal of his own architecture practice, Pete has had
primary responsibility for the design of over $35 million in completed
residential construction. |
